Right after the denouement of the Second World War people began to think that the world’s essential values are clear and justifiable . Both general politics and social relations were counting on the thoughts of gain , good changes , faith in the logical , enlightenment , technical innovations , and the knowledge of how to ground any activity from a rational point of view . Nevertheless , starting from the second half of the 60’s, the world commenced to deteriorate and now , 40 years later , we find ourselves in a changed type of actuality .
We without any problems notice those innovations which are brought to us by new technology, but we infrequently are aware of the fact that there are some ideas standing behind those solutions . The essence of the expected change was at first tracked by those people, who more often than not lived ahead of their time – writers and authors. Among the numerous authors whose books have served for amusement , there have been several of them who have given the humankind a new picture of the future . They have better than others other people molded and voiced new thoughts and have finally molded a new intellectual and perceptual substantiation of the future. They have found issues in the mundane of our lives and have shed light onto a set of problems, which were existing without being noticed . They have helped us to realize the new challenges , and have given us new ambitions .
These were the authors who have formed the thoughts of the entire generation, which has taken the blow of dramatic change; change, which was viewed as anarchy at the dawn of the 21 first century. They have turned our attention to the most tormenting issues of the past century; those questions , which the people , having lived through the global wars and unprecedented sufferings , was afraid to face . Lastly they were voicing the the most topical issue “What will happen in the future”?
In this work we will mention several of the most well known writers of the 20th century. They have all much influenced literature of their period, have revealed trends and dilemmas which were essential to their nations and the period of time they existed in, and have motivated the audience meditate on the existing ideology of values, having them understand that it is far from being ideal. One of the most exciting feature of their writing is that in mostly they have awake the audience attention in books and written works. In this aspect one of the most exciting success writings is that of a well known writer Lewis Carroll .
The success of Joan Rowling can be considered special as she has found herself to be the first author in the world to earn $1 billion by authoring fairytales. She is now spending a considerable part of her earnings on charity, battling poverty and illness. The plot of the book was found while she was on the train from Manchester to London. When the publisher has first agreed to print her book, she has awarded her 1500 pounds together with a loving advice — to find a permanent job. He was doubtful of the fact that the young author would be able to make money of writing books. Joann has showed the opposite - having produced a number of amazing fairytales, she has made the so-called non-reading people get back to reading books.
This work is not able to enumerate and more or less exactly list all writers who have offered their gift to the world’s literature. They have been writing and putting ideas directly into the thoughts of the millions, and in this way were shaping the future. Thus, as we can see, these authors were not creating for entertainment only, but they were also playing a significant role in molding the culture and the vision of a society of the 20th century.
