Technical crisis modern Russia

It is actual fact, that humanist occupations are very popular nowadays. Since school a lot of young people believe this speciality to be very attractive. With such an viewpoint they are brought up in their families, go to high school, to a institute and at last they begin rearing their own children that way. Cul-de-sac.
Why is it so? What do make people think that manual operations have lost their popularity?
There are several causes.
First of all modern engineering has got such a high level of growth that the majority of people is capable of running it without having special engineering skill. thereby there is no point for subsequent spreading of technical knowledge. Humanits use begins prevailing in all fields of life.
second it is an well known fact that we live in the consumer society. People in it don’t want to work with their hands. They like to depict everything and consume products, but not to produce something by themselves. Naturally this fact does not influence positively on diffusion of technical education. People are simply not interested in it.
In the third place is the fact that the resource base has got such a degree of desolation that we frequently have no place for work after studying the theory.
at last a very major thing is the policy of the state. What professions does it suppose as asked-for nowadays? We can easily learn it by researching our mass-media. The internet, the television, the radio, the press – what images do they promote now? It is easy to prove that they are full of humanist images. Mass-media show us easy life in which there is no place for hard-work, but there are a lot of talks, beautiful scenes and fantasies.
What do we have as a result?
Lack of competent workers in the technical sphere. There are a lot of philosophers, lawyers, artists, singers, politicians, professors but a few people, able to operate for example a expensive jointer planer. This will lead to a perilous situation when we will be needing very simple things which are very important for our comfortable existence.
Besides that our education system is totally destroyed. There is no technical literature of high quality – it is either sold or lost. There is no qualified teachers able to educate adequate personnel working in non-humanist spheres.
Such is the picture. Sad, isn’t it?
Then, there is an adequate question: what should our society do in order to improve the situation? it is clear that there are several actions to be taken. firstly our education system should change its attitude towards technical professions and specialities and theirs future. education system should apply efforts in order to promote technical specialities in mass-media.
And of course, the best way to save technical professions is to assign enough means both for the payment for the people who work in this sphere and to the creating an adequate resource base.
